In 2026, AUS introduced the new theme “Communities in Action” reflecting the evolution of the symposium towards empowering students to move beyond dialogue and translate ideas into meaningful action.

Through the three sub-themes of Sustainability & Innovation, Heritage & Culture, and Inclusivity & Resilience, AUS 2026 brought together diverse perspectives to explore how communities can respond to shared challenges while recognising the unique contexts in which they arise.

By encouraging collaboration, cross-cultural exchange, and innovation, the programme invited participants to consider how they can actively contribute to building more sustainable, inclusive and resilient communities.
